In my family, we call it "the dish gene"--the love of collecting dishes that many of us share. This rose tea set was my great-grandmother's, and the story goes that my great-grandfather bought the set for her while they were dating (I would have married him, too!). The silverplate, crystal, blue and white pitcher, and lace placemat belonged to my grandmother, and the milk glass vase was given to me by my mother, making this painting the culmination of four generations of women who share a love of hosting and gathering around the table.
This original acrylic painting on canvas is preserved with a UV-protective varnish. The canvas is 18 x 24 x 1.5 inches. The edges of the canvas are white.
