My choir director used to say that singing is 90% listening. It's the same for painting. 90% of it is seeing. Only 10% of the process is actually putting brush to canvas.
Painting a snapdragon allowed me to see and appreciate it in a new way. I never really noticed them before, but I love how the colors of the petals change from white to pink, how many smaller flowers are united on one stem, and how there is so much movement in the larger whole.
My February Flowers this year are all about growth as an artist. By completing many paintings in a similar theme, I hope to improve my skill and challenge myself to become better.
The painting on canvas is preserved with a UV-protective varnish. I recommend completing it with this gold frame.
