I painted strawberries, one of my favorite fruits, in a bowl that once belonged to my great-grandmother. The bowl is set on a floral cloth with warm sunlight and cool shadows.
This original acrylic painting on canvas is preserved with a UV-protective varnish. The canvas is 11 x 14 x 0.75 inches.
About the collection:
In life, it's easy to focus on big events: birthdays, holidays, and "firsts." But most of life is made up of those in-between moments. Small, everyday moments can be the most meaningful parts of life.
In painting, I'm obsessed with the idea of negative space--the space in between the objects pictured. I love to blur the line between positive and negative space. At first glance, you might focus on the central "important" object, but upon further reflection, you'll see that the background--the in between--is just as significant.
