Growing flowers in my backyard garden adds a unique perspective to my floral paintings. 

In order to capture something, we must really get to know it. And how much can you get to know a few pixels snapped by a stranger in a fraction of a second? 

The sprouts emerging from the earth, the pulling of weeds, the waiting for each bud to open, and the worry over the weather all contribute to my appreciation and love of these beautiful flowers!
